Capturing the Spirit of Nirvana: DMU Photography Students Shine at Presentation Day

At Leicester Nirvana, building strong community partnerships is at the heart of everything we do. For our annual Presentation Day back in May 2026, we were thrilled to collaborate with De Montfort University (DMU) to offer an exciting, real-world opportunity for their photography students.

We welcomed two talented student photographers to our flagship event, which brings together players, coaches, and parents to celebrate the past year's achievements.

The students were given a unique creative challenge. Their brief was to capture the authentic energy, high emotion, and genuine spirit of our members. From the tension of the awards to the candid smiling faces in the crowd, they were asked to tell the story of our club through their lenses.

A Winning Partnership
This collaboration is a perfect example of how Leicester Nirvana and DMU work together to bridge the gap between academic study and community action. By opening our doors to local students, we can support the next generation of creative talent while capturing memories that our club members will cherish for years to come. It gave students vital industry experience, a tangible portfolio piece, and a chance to engage with a diverse community audience.

Bringing SDG’s to Life
A big part of our day each year is to continually engage our members around the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Football has a unique power to unite people, and we use our platform to inspire positive social change. Each year, we work together with DMU United Nations Impact Hub to bring SDG engagement to life, educating and inspiring the hundreds of players and parents who attend the day. By embedding global goals like equality, health, and community sustainability into our celebration, we show our young players that they are part of something much bigger than football.
