Leicester Nirvana Celebrates Double Victory: Named National and County Club of the Year

Leicester Nirvana FC is celebrating a historic double triumph after being crowned both The FA National Grassroots Club of the Year 2025 and Leicestershire & Rutland County FA Club of the Year 2025.
The dual recognition marks a milestone achievement for the club, highlighting its outstanding commitment to grassroots football, community development, and providing opportunities for young people across Leicester and beyond.
“Winning both the National and County awards is an incredible honour. This recognition is a testament to the hard work of our players, coaches, volunteers, and the wider Leicester Nirvana family. Our club is built on community spirit, and we are proud to continue creating pathways for young people to thrive.” said Club Chairperson, Zak Hajat.
The Leicestershire & Rutland County FA (LRCFA) 2025 Recognition Awards held on Thursday 4 September at Athena, Leicester, was a formal celebration of the individuals and organisations who contribute significantly to grassroots football across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. A total of 323 nominations were received for this year’s grassroots awards, which is a 30 percent increase on the previous season. The Recognition Awards provides an opportunity to acknowledge the time, energy and passion committed to grassroots football locally.
For Leicester Nirvana, the awards served as both recognition of their efforts and inspiration to push further in their mission. Engaging with other passionate individuals within the football community reinforced the importance of collaboration and dedication, making the event not just a celebration, but a motivating force for the future. Overall, it was a memorable night that highlighted the vibrant football culture in Leicestershire and Rutland.
Club Trustee Mahomed Hashim said, “Leicester Nirvana’s success is not just measured in trophies but in the lives it touches, the opportunities it creates, and the lasting impact it has on the community it serves.”
